feature: Who? Me?! At the Irish Blog Awards??

No way!

I haven’t really talked about the 2010 Irish Blog Awards, I didn’t talk about it when the nominations came out and I didn’t talk about it when the shortlists came out. I kinda thought that since this is a film review blog it wasn’t really appropriate… plus I was kind of worried that it would seem like I was blowing my own trumpet a bit… But you know what? I don’t care any more – I’m one of the finalists!

I am totally chuffed by this and I really wanted to thank the judges, sponsors and all the people who are organising the awards. I figured writing a little post was the best way of doing this, so thanks folks!

In case you are wondering, I’m in the Best Arts & Culture Blog category which is kindly sponsored by Poetry Ireland. I’ll be heading over to Galway for the Awards on 27th March and I really don’t know what to expect but I’m looking forward to hopefully meeting the rest of the bloggers in my category…

… as well as others from all over the country. I don’t know what my chances are… As you can see from the above, my competition is pretty tough (!) but either way I’m sure it’ll be a great night and I’ve definitely discovered some great new blogs through the process so it’s all good. 🙂

So I guess all that’s left to say is… hope to see you in Galway on Saturday!

Thanks folks! Being really honest I do think it’s a bit of a long shot but it should be a good night and it’ll be nice to get out of Dublin for a little while – my car could use the run anyway, I think it’s tired of sitting in traffic every morning and evening… 😉
