movie news: Stars turn out for The Stag premiere in Dublin (JDIFF 2014)

Stars of The Stag turned out in force tonight for the Irish premiere of the brand new Irish comedy. Hugh O’Connor, Andrew Scott, Peter McDonald, Michael Legge, Andrew Bennett and director John Butler all braved the red carpet in the cold and rain… as is customary in Ireland.

Andrew Scott in particular took care to sign autographs and take pictures with the many fans of his Sherlock character, Moriarty. Check out our photos below from the red carpet…

The film also marked the closing of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival. Speaking at the closing gala, Festival Director Gráinne Humphreys said;

“What an absolute pleasure it is to be able to be able to wrap up an incredibly successful 11 day long festival with the Irish premiere of another Irish film. The Stag is the perfect closing film, something that will leave our audience with a smile on their faces for days to come. The support of our audiences this year at the festival has been extraordinary – they have welcomed new cinematic discoveries, remembered classic films, and had the opportunity to meet with some of the most influential people in world cinema.”
