Upcoming film news: Inception (2010)

You may remember, back in January I was all excited about this trailer I’d seen for the upcoming Christopher Nolan film, Inception. Looks class.

Mainly I think it looks class for two reasons: 1) it’s looks a bit like Dark City… I really loved that film, it’s one of my favourites and that’s mainly because of the imagery. Looking like Dark City is a big plus for me. 2) Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in it. I think that’s usually a good sign. He always seems to pick interesting roles… Ok, I know he did G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra but I haven’t seen it so for all I know he was great in it. Anyway he also did Brick so he’s got a lot of mileage out of that for me…

I hadn’t really heard anything more about Inception till this week. Now I haven’t been looking for information because, as I’m sure you might know by now, I don’t like to hear anything about films I’m really looking forward too just in case I hear a spoiler. I try not to watch trailers or anything, I even look at my feet in the cinema if trailers for films I want to see come on.

But! This bit of news did catch my eye the other week, they’re only film stills so hopefully it can’t spoil too much. There were one or two others that looked like they might be giving things away so I elected not to post them here. Have a look… are you as excited as me?

I think this is my favourite of all the ones I’ve seen so far

Inception still 2 Christopher Nolan

Lookin’ good

Inception still Ellen Page

Ok, this one’s a bit boring and I don’t like Ellen Page but I’m willing to overlook that…

Inception still Christopher Nolan

Where ya goin’ with that gun Leo?

Not sure what’s going on with this building but it looks mysterious… Everyone likes mysterious right?

Inception is scheduled to release in Ireland on 16th July 2010.

Looking forward to this a lot. Nolan is a sure-handed filmmaker with a powerful imagination.

I have to say that I pride myself on avoiding information about films before I see them but I take my hat off to you on this.

    Fair play.
I’ll have to up my game.

Hehe, yeah… I am that saddo looking at her feet shielding her eyes and trying not to understand what she’s hearing.

Fortunately the dialogue in most trailers doesn’t make much sense without the pictures – if they even have dialogue – so I don’t have to stick my fingers in my ears as well… what a pretty picture that would make!
