And so it ends.

Finally we are at Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

It’s been a long journey. I think a lot of people won’t realise this, but the first novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was first published on 30th June 1997, 14 years ago. I kind think it’s a pity that this last film is releasing two weeks after it’s anniversary. It kinda would have been cool if it was the same date. Oh well.

In those 14 years we’ve seen Harry Potter become a truly global phenomena. A proper one, not like those ones that pop up on YouTube every couple of weeks. These novels have seen JK Rowling go from being a single mother on benefits to the 12th richest woman in Britain. Impressive.

Anyway, I guess there’s no need to give a synopsis of Harry Potter. All that’s really worth saying is that if you haven’t seen any of the films or read any of the books, you really shouldn’t go to this film. There’s no point. It’s the 8th film in a series of 8. You’re not going to know what’s going on. If you really want to see this one, you’d be best getting hold of the DVDs (or books) and watching it all first…

… Fortunately for you, the first 7 films are all now available on DVD. So what are you waiting for? Take thee to the DVD store!
